Studio FAQ’s
Do you offer open studio time?
At this time, no open studio is provided. Please register for a class, book a private lesson, or attend a workshop to access the studio.
Can I fire my own work in your kiln?
I am open to it on a case-by-case basis, please contact me if you are interested. Due to my kiln being brand-spankin-new, I am very careful with what I decide to put into my kiln, so be prepared for lots of questions about the clay and glazes you are using. I bisque fire to cone 04 and glaze fire to cone 6, and typically charge $0.06 per cubic inch.
Store FAQs
Do you offer customization or commissioned works?
Yes! Contact me and describe what you are looking for to start the process of creating a quote. Custom work has a generous lead time (5 weeks at minimum, depending on the project), patience is a virtue! High quality ceramics can last multiple generations if well-loved and taken care of, so your custom work will be well worth the wait.
How long will it take to receive my ceramics?
I am currently a one woman shop, so at this time, shipping will take longer than Jeff Bezos has led you to anticipate. When I receive an order, it will take me (on average) 2-3 days to “fulfill” the order before I drop it off at the post office, at which point the shipping method you selected determines the rest of the equation.
I live in Durango/I am visiting Durango. Can I come pick up my ceramics?
Absolutely!! I prefer this! It saves everyone time, money, and resources. I even offer a local delivery option.
What is your return policy?
I will accept returns within 30 days of purchase for unused ceramics. For shipped items, the customer accepts all responsibility + charges for return shipping and assumes all risk with shipping.
What if my ceramics arrive broken in the mail?
Big sad! Knock on wood, but I have only had this happen once, and I replaced the broken piece with something similar. I am an extremely small business (just me!) and will try my best to make it right, either through a refund or a replacement. I pride myself in packaging things very well (using almost all recycled/recyclable paper packaging) but accidents do happen between point A and B.
What if I drop my ceramic piece and it breaks?
Nook Ceramics are meant to be used and loved every day, and accidents happen! Unfortunately, I cannot replace broken ceramics due to accidents. My first recommendation is to try using E600 Glue to fix the piece. It is remarkably strong: I have successfully reattached mug handles with this glue and it is hardly noticeable, and it is dishwasher safe. Please reach out if you would like further advice on fixing/repairing ceramics.
