Nook Ceramics Studio

This is where the vision comes to life. Nook Ceramics Studio is located minutes from town and has everything you need to learn, create, relax, and connect.

The studio is furnished with 4 new Amaco Brent Model C wheels, a new Skutt KM-1027 kiln, a wide array of professional studio glazes, and stocked with Cone 6 clay from New Mexico Clay. All ceramics are fired to Cone 6 (approximately 2232°F). Nook Ceramics is located minutes from town in Bodo Park.

Private Throwing Lessons

Perfect for families, groups of friends, date nights, and folks visiting from out of town! Private Lessons are BYOB friendly.
Private lessons can be booked:
Mondays and Wednesdays 9am - 3pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm - 7pm
Friday Saturday and Sundays 9am - 7pm


Prices listed include the following: Jill completing 1-2 works created during the lesson, which includes the following: trimming, bisque firing, waxing & glazing, glaze firing, as well as clay & glaze cost.

2 participants
• $90 per person for a 1.5 hour lesson
• $125 per person for a 2 hour lesson

3 participants
• $110 per person for a 2 hour lesson

4 participants

5+ participants

For those visiting from out of town, pieces can be shipped for $10 per piece.

Wheel Workshops

No experience necessary! Our one-time wheel workshops include clay, firing and glazing of one piece of pottery per person. All pieces will be ready for pick up 4-6 weeks following the class date. Additional pieces may be glazed and fired for a fee of $10 per piece. Perfect for folks who are visiting Durango, groups of friends, co-workers, and date nights. All of our workshops are BYOB friendly.

$75 per person, Ages 14+

For folks visiting from out of town, finished pottery can be shipped home for $10 per piece.

Teen Pottery Wheel Classes

5-Week Pottery Wheel Class for Teens, Ages 14-18
Meet once per week for a 2 hour class to learn how to throw, trim, attach handles, and glaze.
